How does a family become a non-anxious presence in the midst of a chaotic world?
How does a mother embody rest in a culture that runs and performs and strives for more?
How do we build homes that exhale peace — where our children feel emotionally safe, spiritually covered, and wildly loved?
I believe the answer begins with this:
We return.
We return to what matters most.
We slow down long enough to notice what’s stirring.
We begin to live from the inside out — not the outside in.
Here’s what that’s looked like in my own story:
1. Operating within our family values.
Not just what we say we believe — but what we live every single day.
What are we building our family culture on?
What’s actually shaping our decisions, our rhythms, our priorities?
2. Choosing slow, steadfast, thoughtful living.
Not easy, but intentional.
What if our homes didn’t feel like a blur of chaos and catch-up?
What if our pace was slow enough to catch the whisper of the Holy Spirit — and soft enough for our children to rest in?
3. Aligning with the God-ordained order.
“When we get in harmony with God, everything will vibrate in tune with us.”
He is re-tuning you, beloved.
Re-tuning your pace.
Re-tuning your roles.
Re-tuning your priorities.
Are you willing to let Him?
The Peace That Overrides Understanding
The Lord began to show me that the peace I longed for wasn’t found in getting everything right —
It was found in agreeing with Him.
I had to lay down my fear of missing out.
I had to stop outsourcing the soul work of parenting.
I had to believe — truly believe — that my family was my first and most sacred ministry.
I remember a season where I joked with other homeschool moms that the Lord was “sending me back to prison.” I compared being home with my kids to confinement. I wore weariness like a badge. I believed that my “calling” had to be somewhere else.
And yet… the Lord was so gentle.
He didn’t shame me.
He showed me.
“Your children are not your prison,” He whispered.
“They are your Promised Land.”
That moment changed everything.
Wild One, Can I Ask You Something?
What if the holy ground you’ve been begging for is beneath your feet right now?
What if the legacy of your great-grandchildren following Jesus hinges on the decisions you’re making today — in the hidden, uncelebrated, sacred slow of home?
What if this season isn’t holding you back… but calling you deeper?
Do you really believe that the home is a holy place?
Will you let the Lord re-tune your rhythms — not just for your sanity, but for the sake of your children’s spirits?
Will you lay down what feels urgent to protect what is eternal?
You only get one shot at their childhood.
One shot at their teenage years.
One chance to become the kind of mother or father who is so anchored in rest, the storms can rage — but your home will not shake.
The culture may call you to hustle.
But Heaven is calling you to rest and reign.
A Non-Anxious Presence Looks Like:
-
A mother who isn’t ruled by performance or productivity.
-
A father who values presence over pressure.
-
A family that knows the pace of peace.
-
A home that feels like safety — because it’s rooted in Heaven’s rhythms.
So take a deep breath.
Bring your anxious heart before the Lord.
Let Him speak into the very architecture of your family.
Ask Him:
“What does peace look like in our home?
Where are we out of alignment?
What do You want me to lay down, and what do You want me to pick up?”
He will answer you.
Because He wants your home to be whole.
He wants your family to radiate rest.
He wants to dwell in your midst.
So let Him re-tune your home, wild one.
Let Him re-tune your heart.
Let rest rise again.
🕊 TAKEAWAY FOR THE SEEKER:
You were never meant to be the source of peace — just the keeper of it.
Let the Lord become your pace-setter.
Let your home become the altar.
And let rest return like a long-lost friend.
